Govern
01Keep one approved source of truth
Versioned role knowledge stays with the organization. Owners review changes, preserve history, and decide what becomes authoritative.
TacitTalks · Knowledge Continuity
Create a persistent, company-owned Knowledge Continuity Workspace for a critical role or responsibility. Capture engagements add governed knowledge so the next person can act with context, not start over.
Qualifying continuity access and available workspace allocation are required to create and activate a workspace. Free includes guided setup, role analysis, interview scripts, and one watermarked risk assessment; it does not activate a living workspace.

92% of organizations don't consistently capture knowledge from soon-to-be retirees - yet 58% of the C-suite calls the risk "very serious." (APQC)
Why now
Retirement is the exit you can see coming: about 11,400 Americans turn 65 every day. But it is only the most visible way deep knowledge walks out the door.
The bigger shift is churn. Median tenure has fallen to 3.9 years, so the expertise cliff recurs with every resignation, promotion, and reorganization, not once a generation.
And every departure is a one-way door. The judgment your organization runs on - the undocumented decisions, exceptions, and relationships no one wrote down - leaves with the person, and no handover folder brings it back.
"Learning disabilities are tragic in children, but they are fatal in organizations."
Succession suites
They track who fills the seat - not what the seat knows.
KM and search tools
They index what's already written down. The hard part never is.
TacitTalks
We capture the tacit expertise behind the role and turn it into knowledge your organization can act on.
Outcomes
A Continuity Report a leader can read and forward - the whole role, synthesized - plus a Successor Briefing for the next person in the seat.
A Knowledge Risk Assessment that ranks your single points of failure by exposure.
A live risk heatmap of knowledge coverage across your roles and engagements.
Practice, verification, and human attestation create a defensible record of what a successor has demonstrated.
From capture to living continuity
Capture engagements add governed knowledge to the workspace. Successors, backups, managers, knowledge owners, and approved partners receive role-specific access.
The workspace carries approved knowledge, history, ownership, guidance, practice, and verification across engagements and personnel changes, subject to its lifecycle and your contract and retention policy. It supports cited answers grounded in approved knowledge without treating generated answers as permanent records.
Govern
01Versioned role knowledge stays with the organization. Owners review changes, preserve history, and decide what becomes authoritative.
Equip
02Successors and backups see a recommended first action, exact documents, manager guidance, and cited answers drawn only from material they can access.
Verify
03Reviewed contributions, guided practice, verification, and readiness attestation show where confidence is earned and where support is still needed.
Maintain
04Named owners, review dates, change impact, and actionable alerts keep the continuity record useful long after the original engagement ends.
The right view for each role
Audience, assignment, exact grants, sponsorship, and expiry determine what each person can see and do. Assignment revocation or expiry removes that person’s access immediately.
If entitlement ends, assignments and company knowledge remain intact while living features stay suspended until qualifying entitlement returns.
Entitlement loss does not archive or delete a workspace. An archived workspace has no living features and returns to FORMING only through explicit reactivation after owner and entitlement checks.
Set priorities, guide the next action, assign practice, and see where intervention is needed.
Approve revisions, maintain role knowledge, and resolve freshness work without rewriting history.
Use an exact workspace with permitted knowledge, cited answers, guidance, practice, and feedback.
Receive sponsored, time-bound access to only the role knowledge and work they are assigned.
See it in action
Transition · Retirement
A senior maintenance mechanic is retiring - the only one who can nurse the plant’s most fragile line through a bad night. Four interviews turn what is in his hands into a handover his successor can run.
See how it works→Transition · Resignation
Three weeks’ notice, a competitor waiting, and the payments service only she can steady at 3 a.m. Three fast interviews turn undocumented infra and tribal on-call knowledge into runbooks her team can hold.
See how it works→Proactive · Cross-training
Nobody is leaving - but the whole board lives in one person’s head, and she hasn’t taken a real break in four years. Three interviews build a backup who can run it, so she can finally go.
See how it works→Transition
An expert is leaving. Capture the judgment they carry before their last day, and hand their successor a briefing instead of a folder.
Proactive
No one is leaving, yet. Reduce key-person risk on your critical roles through structured capture, cross-training, and documentation.
Start with one departure. End with a continuity program.
Experts participate with dignity. Nothing is captured without their agreement.
Every organization's knowledge is isolated at the database layer.
Significant access and governance actions create reviewable audit history without storing restricted content in analytics.
A retirement, a promotion, a resignation, a role you want to de-risk - every transition is a chance to keep what your people know.
